Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs – even though checkered by failure – than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. – Theodore Roosevelt
Home And Away || Failing Our Way To Glory (Part II)
Foresight Interiors deals in fitted kitchen cabinetry. They custom design, build and install so it’s a bit of a process, but well worth it.
They were our first client.
The objective was relatively simple – to assist them in promoting the availability and concept of kitchen renovations to potential clients within Karen (their traditional target area). And at the same time go into similar neighbourhoods which there were at the time unable to fully cover.
The idea was to use an old, not-so-conventional and definitely not-so-high-tech approach to marketing. So armed with an envelope containing the intro letter and a brochure featuring their promotional discount, our agents left the comfort of the contact centre, each to their prescribed areas dropping off the materials house-to-house and door-to-door.
As you can well imagine, we were definitely feeling out of our depth. From chat support on a mobile-web platform to trekking the winding paths and gated communities of suburbia under the hot, unforgiving Nairobi sun.
By all indications, it would have easily appeared as though our pioneering African tech-start up had gone… well, belly-up!
